My Experience with Apple

So, first of all. I have always disliked Apple from afar. And I have valid empirical reasons for this, which I may post about if I get angry enough. But my brother purchased and iPod for my mother for her birthday, which was handed to me to fill with music (as the techish one). Now keep in mind this represents the first Apple product ever to enter my desk space, since I rejected Apple in HS after years of use.

Here is what has happened so far in attempting to use the iPod. All I want to do is put music onto it, a task that takes less then 2 minutes with my Sansa off brand player, or my Creative player.

I plug in the iPod.
W7 recognizes the iPod immediately, and give me access to its memory.

I attempt to drag and drop music onto the iPod.
The files copy, but will are not seen by the iPod.

I attempt to use Winamp to sync music to the iPod.
Winamp sync the music successfully, filling the iPod with great tunes.
However the iPod refuses to play said tunes back.

I break down and download the ego-maniacal-changes-all-the-file-associations-lost-a-law-suit-for-being-a-virus fucking iTunes. Which I have done and quickly un-installed in the past.
I attempt to access the iPod via iTunes, which demands I create and Apple account.
In creating an Apple account, they request my

• Name
• Birthdate
• Home Address
• Occupation
• And a Credit card Number

All just to access a product, we have already fucking purchased from a company that claims to just work; but wont allow me to simply drag and drop music onto it like EVERY OTHER mp3 player outer there, no matter how shitty. Now it will not let me finish creating my account because, it says my zip-code is wrong, regardless of the fact that I know where I live, and that it IS the zip-code associated with the credit card I entered, and never intend to use with this account EVER. So now I have to call Apple tech support, to get finish making my account.

I go to the Apple website and get the support number. I dial the number.

seriously. It has been 4 hours, and there is no music on the iPod. I am considering advising her to return the thing.

Christian Conservatives are not stupid, they're SCUM

This is not a matter of opinion, its a fact. And I can prove it empirically.

I make the following affirmations:

• Knowledge is the strength of a culture, and the substrate through which we progress as a species. All of human accomplishment, and improvement in our standard of living, is the direct result of growth in knowledge, and an increase in its accuracy. As such, ignorance and misinformation, represent the single greatest internal threat to humanity.
• One cannot be blamed for that which they have no control over. This includes stupidity. You can't fix stupid.
• One cannot be faulted for ignorance if: they are genuinely stupid, or live in a culture where exposure to certain facts is not possible.

and draw the following conclusion:

• A human being who exhibits willful ignorance, or actively campaigns against knowledge; while having the intelligence to know better, and while living in a culture where they can be exposed to facts; is actively retarding human growth, AND is a fault for doing so.

In my opinion such a person is scum, and has should be severally punished. However, there is no individual whom I believe should have the power to punish said scum, on their own volition. Scum can be reformed, never forget that.

Christian Conservatives are not stupid people, they have the same mental faculties that are the gifts of all humanity. In-fact here is data reflecting that:

Some studies suggest that genuine stupidity does play a small roll here, showing that Atheists and Liberals have on average ~7 IQ points more than Conservatives, and Christians.

However, I hardly think that 7 points is an excuse for most people, bur it is what you would expect from a viewpoint that is simply less correct.

So Christian Conservatives, living in a country with, INTERNET, are worthy of being treated like adults, and can be held responsible for their own views. If you are one, hopefully you agree.

Now onto the meat:

Christian Conservatives attack knowledge by actively spreading and believing information without a basis in reality. It's not merely that the conservative leadership is so willing to invent misinformation in-order to keep their base inline with political goals, but the fact that the conservative common man is willing to believe these fallacious and often outrageous statements without review.

In a nation that is 82.3% Christian, less than half (45%) of people can name the first four and most important books, in the New Testament. In other words Christians get and F- on understanding their own core beliefs.

The Christian god does not exist, and is multi-self-refuting. Even if Christians knew about what they claim to hold as their highest belief it would still be empirically wrong.

There are thousands of examples of this destructive behavior, a few more provable ones are listed below:

• Continued support of 'Abstinence Only Education' to reduce teen pregnancy, and promote sexual health, after it has been proven to have the opposite effect.
• Claims the social programs, that are present - effective and observable in other countries (often superior to our own), will damage or destroy society.
• Claims that people holding their views founded the country, and that it entitles them to have said views be the standard, when in reality the founders where not largely Christians, and would not be considered conservative on today's standards.

It has become common place for the conservative to dismiss any contradictory information (even if it is unanimous and verified) as having a bias and therefore unreliable. Almost as if the truth/facts/reality, had a bias against them somehow, without it meaning that they personally are incorrect. I have even heard data without a human origin, accused of bias, as if carbon was out to get them.

This is not to say that all Conservative Christians are misinformed or illogical people, or that the opposite is true of Liberals and Atheists. Not at all. It is simply that Conservative Christians are the MOST misinformed and hostile to knowledge, WHILE being capable or research and having the intelligence to do so.

There are plenty of views held as 'Liberal' views that are baseless, it just that said views (acupuncture for example) accounts for less than 10% of society (and is not a core belief).

Not all scum are Conservative Christians, but most Conservative Christians are scum.

I need to get out of this country

Just the way I am feeling right now. If anyone wanted to know why I am going to terminate my citizenship, this is why.

I am sick and tired on living with this much tension, with the fear of incarceration without crime, with knowing the deeper fascism behind our schools, with people too stupid and vitriolic to know what it is they are fighting for, with an ugly city built by revolting people. I'm done with the heat; I am never going to suffer through a 8 month Arizona summer again. I'm done with the lack culture, and the disrespect for what culture there is.

Most of all I am sick of the delusion and xenophobia in this country, guess what USA is not number one, and people are happy and free in other industrialized nations as well. There is always a trade off, but like I said USA is not number one, hasn't been for a long time. It's as simple as that. The difference seems to be nationalism and delusion, people here get so upset at the idea of reforms. Reforms that have been tested else-ware and people are happy with. Maybe Australia is a horrible place to live full of tyranny and Stalin is worshiped, but I doubt it, remember USA is not number one.

One should not have to be told that they are free, or have it reaffirmed, it should go without saying. I am a good and reasonable person, there is no reason to prosecute me.

I am going to make a blanket statement.

Those of you who are involved in 'Zeitgeist' or like 'movements' please stop sending me things. Your viewpoint is about 1000 years behind schedule. Just because you are middle aged and only recently discovered, OPEN WELL DOCUMENTED INFORMATION, which you where too lazy to look up before the internet, does not be the rest of the world was unaware. It is not your sacred mission to disseminate your flaccid, chain mail style, research to young people. Just pass it back an forth among yourselves and continue jerking off to the fact that someone took the time to open a book an email you a fact that is seeing less then total mass approval. Your not radical, please shut up. If you want a premier on reality it starts with your own genuine curiosity about the world around you, not a VHS, not a self help book, and certainly nothing you saw on you-tube. If you want real information, it may require more than reading chain-mail or spending 20mins a day jerking off into the internet.
